Family Ties: Louis The Child’s Robby Hauldren and Levity’s John Hauldren

Robby Hauldren and John Hauldren share more than just a passion for EDM.

For Louis the Child’s Robby Hauldren and Levity’s John Hauldren, love of music is a part of their DNA. Louis the Child – comprised of DJs Robby Hauldren and Frederic J. Kennett – is one of the most famous EDM duos in the world. Levity – comprised of DJs Josh Tarum, Pj Carberry, and John Hauldren – is an up-and-coming trio worth watching and potentially rising stars. Despite slightly eclipsing one another’s generations, the two groups have a salient commonality: family. John of Levity is the younger brother to international superstar Robby, two siblings out of the four Hauldren kids.

The Hauldren family is technically comprised of four: Tommy, Robby, John, and a middle sister Amy, as seen in John’s Instagram posts. Tommy appears to be the most offline and enigmatic, with all private social media. Robby and John both exist in the entertainment and media space, and Amy is a festival-going, outdoorsy fiancé, having just got engaged in 2023. On John’s social media, he regularly posts snapshots from family vacations, outings, and bonding moments. Every post is wholesome and radiates kindness.

Louis the Child is best known for their buoyant singles “Better Not (with Wafia)” and “It’s Strange (feat. K.Flay),” which smashed records worldwide in 2018 and 2016 respectively, and have amassed almost half a billion streams on Spotify alone. The duo has traveled internationally for a decade, performing at preeminent venues and festivals, with two forthcoming pitstops in Las Vegas.

Newcomers Levity went viral in 2023 for their intimate Electric Forest performance that amassed thousands of festival goers and looked like a rave in an enchanted forest. Levity performed as a duo rather than a trio and on a stage in the round.

When looking back on the performance, John expressed immense gratitude for the most pivotal moment of his career yet. “Our set started as 50 people and quickly grew into a few thousand. That set changed our lives and it’s been a nonstop grind to turn that moment into something more to achieve our dreams…”

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
