Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH Shut Down Chicago Streets for MELLODEATH Pop Up

Hours before their performance at Aragon Ballroom, MELLODEATH had stormed the streets of Chicago last weekend to play a pop up show on top of The Wieners Circle.

Videos had circulated social media before the set began, capturing hundreds of people filling the sidewalks and streets for MELLODEATH. The merchandise pop-up had been announced by Live Nation and later confirmed by the artists and The Wieners Circle. The stand has been a staple in Chicago for over 40 years and wholeheartedly embraced the event.

MELLODEATH had set their turntables on top of the stand, giving the restaurant and artists plenty of time to recruit fans. Shortly after posting a picture of the decks, hundreds of fans made their way to Lincoln Park to prepare for a night of dubstep and bass. By the time Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH came out, the street had been shut down.

The pair played to a sea of fans, bringing all the electronic music to Clark Street. The restaurant posted a picture of the pop-up from a birds-eye view, showing just how many people showed up for the duo.

“Chicago we popped up and you showed out, see y’all tonight for the real party!” Marshmello posted after the event. He and SVDDEN DEATH went on to play to a sold-out crowd at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.

Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH have been tearing up the scene with heavy shows on top of riddim and dubstep collaborations. The pop-up followed a headline show at Red Rocks and will be followed by performances in Minneapolis and Dallas. The MELLODEATH tour will conclude in Dallas at the end of April, but the producers individually have shows booked through the summer.

There is no telling what MELLODEATH has planned next, so be sure to keep up with the duo. Listen to ‘MELLODEATH Tapes Vol. I’ here:
