Alison Wonderland Announces Sydney Pop-Up After Groovin The Moo Festival Cancellation
The party goes on as Alison Wonderland has announced a one-night-only pop-up show.
As the Triple J-backed regional touring festival Groovin the Moo cancels its 2024 events, Alison Wonderland announces her replacement one-night pop-up show. In her first Australian club appearance since 2018, Wonderland will host this event at Ivy in Sydney, Australia on April 24th.
“We are extremely disappointed to announce that the Groovin the Moo 2024 tour has been forced to cancel,” festival organizers wrote on social media. “Ticket sales have not been sufficient to deliver a regional festival of this kind. All tickets will be refunded automatically.” But for those anticipating on seeing the Grammy-nominated artist are in luck.
Supporting Wonderland will include techno wonder Billy Xane, plus local DJs SILLYBITCHESDIE, Sanchez X, and LEENA.NEES. While Wonderland isn’t “able to bring the full stage setup as planned for GTM,” she plans to travel with no crew, giving the audience a stripped-back club vibe performance.
The DJ has been throwing herself into her workload this year, as she’s been surprising fans with unique kinds of performances. Wonderland just performed a first-ever b2b set with her long-time idol, Kaskade, where the duo teased a new song they have been working on. She also was just in Miami, where she performed a surprise DNB set for a Worship party.
In her announcement, she mentions the performance is Anzac Day Eve, a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand commemorating all natives who served and died in war, conflict, and peacekeeping operations. Fans are thankful the artist is still coming to perform in Australia with the cancelation, as user @its_christopherrobin comments, “Alison to the rescue🙌❤️.”
After the pop-up, Wonderland will perform throughout the U.S. at festivals like Hangout Music, EDC in Las Vegas, and Ubbi Dubbi before heading to Korea for Ultra’s installment there. Hopefully, Wonderland will release the new music she’s been teasing at different shows this year, but until then, her latest track, “Wake Up,” is now available on all platforms.
