Rüfüs Du Sol, Eric Prydz B2B Anyma, Michael Bibi + More to Headline New Coachella Stage Quasar
Coachella announces 3-hour extended sets to be held at the new Quasar stage.
Today, the Coachella Arts and Music Festival announced a new addition to their ever-growing empire, the QUASAR stage. QUASAR will feature extended, three-hour DJ sets across the festival’s back-to-back weekends: April 12-14 and April 19-21. Guests of Weekend One can enjoy B2B performances by Honey Dijon + Green Velvet, Jamie xx + Floating Points + Daphni, and an unforgettable set by the popular Solid Grooves label head, Michel Bibi, who recently triumphed over a rare form of cancer. Weekend Two will showcase RÜFÜS DU SOL, Eric Prydz, Anyma, Diplo, and Mau P.
Furthermore, Coachella’s website had the following description regarding their latest addition “It’s not a dream. It’s not a mirage. It’s the newest stage joining the desert roster. More artists, extended sets.”
This announcement comes as a surprise to fans, as Coachella rarely introduces new stages. Attendees of the 2024 edition of Coachella are in for a treat and will be the first to experience the new stage. Currently, there isn’t much information available regarding the stage layout or whether it will be an outdoor or indoor tented stage. Many fans speculate that QUASAR will occupy the former SAHARA tent location, considering the recent expansions of SAHARA, which required its relocation within the festival grounds.
Additionally, one of the biggest surprises in the lineup is none other than Michael Bibi. Bibi has recently undergone cancer treatment over the past year and has not released music or performed. However, back in September, he was permitted to leave treatment due to its success, and the first thing he did was jump on a plane to headline the final Solid Grooves residency show at DC10 in Ibiza. Since then, Bibi hasn’t performed. This Coachella announcement is a significant step forward for the British talent.
Finally, as Coachella quickly approaches, be sure to follow their socials to stay up-to-date on the latest news. Who knows, you might even get a sneak peek of QUASAR, and everything else it will bring.
