Inside the New Splice Mobile Experience that Helps Musicians Create On-The-Go
Music creation platform Splice has released a new mobile app, packaging their best features for use anytime, anywhere.
Music producers are always on the hunt for new software that can improve and simplify the process of bringing a song idea to life. Perhaps the biggest challenge is finding a portable software that allows for an artist to take action on an idea whenever inspiration strikes. Splice is the latest platform to take their shot at this challenge, releasing a new mobile experience that makes their top-tier music creation software accessible on-the-go.
The new Splice mobile app combines its artificial intelligence-based creation technology and its extensive catalog of samples to provide an all-encompassing user experience. Splice’s library of sounds features over 300 instruments across 140 unique genres that users can browse, audition, and use to create new music. Artists can also easily save, export, and share their creations with friends and collaborators and pick up right where they left off on either desktop or mobile.
For the launch of the new mobile experience, Splice has partnered with producer Terrace Martin, who has worked with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, and Busta Rhymes. “I didn’t even need band members,” says Terrace. “What makes Splice’s Create function amazing, you don’t need a keyboard, you don’t need a computer, you don’t even need a studio. So long as your phone is charged.”
Splice CEO Kakul Srivastava is confident that the new mobile experience does not compromise any of the quality that users have come to know from the desktop platform. “We believe that great ideas should never be confined by time or space,” says Srivastava. “We continue to be led by our customer’s desire to integrate Splice sounds deeper in their workflows. This new mobile experience is another path for our customers to bring new ideas to life anytime, anywhere – without losing any of the quality they’ve come to rely on from Splice.”
This offering from Splice may represent a huge step forward for portable music production, and it will be interesting to see the reviews from users start rolling in. The new Splice mobile app is available now on iOS and Android.
