Sunsquabi Announce Longtime Drummer Chris Anderson is Leaving the Band

Gloom has filled the air for Sunsquabi as their drummer, Chris Anderson, has announced he is leaving the band.

Sunsquabi, the electrifying jam band from Boulder, Colorado, has recently announced a major change in their lineup. In an emotional Instagram post, the band has revealed that their drummer of many years, Chris Anderson, will be leaving Sunsquabi. 

In a recent Instagram post, Sunsquabi expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the musical contributions made by their drummer over the years. The band acknowledged his immense talent and the significant impact he had on their sound and journey. The post also conveyed the band’s unwavering support for him as he embarks on his next chapter. But also, emphasizes the bond and camaraderie that will forever remain between them.

In their official announcement, they show their support for their drummer’s decision. They state “We support Chris and his beautiful family who has supported us for over a decade. And we wish him all of the success and love on the next chapter of his journey. Through all of this, we are most grateful that we can remain brothers and best friends while looking forward to the future of the band.”

Certainly, the iconic drummer’s departure brings sorrow. But, fans know he leaves behind a remarkable legacy. He was one of the band’s founding members and his exceptional drumming skills. Together defining the element of their signature fusion of electronic, funk, and jam music. 

Although Chris is stepping down, this chapter is not the end. He will still be performing with the band at unique events in the future. Also, this weekend on Saturday, 3/9, you can catch them at the Mission Ballroom. Following that, the band will welcome Scotty Zwang as their new full-time drummer.
