Carl Cox Reveals Reason Behind Absence from Ultra Miami 2024 Lineup

Ultra Miami lineup reveals why veteran performer Carl Cox will not be in attendance.

Carl Cox reveals why he will not perform at the Ultra Miami festival this year as fans wonder why the veteran performer is absent from this year’s lineup. The British DJ and record producer explains on social media that he has decided to prioritize opportunities to play at other events around the world around the dates.

For fans worried about his absence, Cox promises he is, “cooking up something extra special for [his] headlining set at Ultra Music Festival 2025,” which will be the festival’s 25th anniversary. In the past 22 years, the DJ has played at the Ultra Miami 19 times, as he is one of the festival’s main attractions.

In the past few years, he has been performing on the RESISTANCE stage, which has grown to become one of the iconic stages at the event. For this year’s edition, there will still be a stacked lineup of performers gracing this stage, including artists like Peggy Gou, Amelie Lens, Eric Prydz, ARTBAT, Eli Brown, and many more.

Although it’s not at Ultra, Cox will still be performing at RESISTANCE Miami at M2 on May 3rd, promising more information to come soon. Until then, Cox has confirmed plans to perform three dates in Colombia and Argentina before heading to Melbourne for Ultra Australia.

The DJ has already had an action-packed 2024 as he’s performed at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Mexico, Colombia, Bogotá, and Medellín. For the rest of the year, Cox has a confirmed list of gigs lined up until August, promising more announcements in the coming weeks.

After releasing two albums last year, ‘International Techno Vol 1’ and ‘International Techno Vol 2,’ he also dropped a remix in December to Adam Beyer’s track “Take Me There (feat. DJ Rush)” available on streaming now. While there haven’t been any announcements for new music from Cox, it’s still very early in the year.
