Gordo Announces Decision to ‘Slow Down’ for Remainder of the Year and Play Only ‘3-4 Shows’

A musical chameleon, GORDO valiantly shares his plans to “slow down” touring to only “3-4 shows” until 2025.

Renowned DJ/producer GORDO has shocked the music industry with his announcement to halt the breaks on touring. Celebrated for his lively performances and boundary-pushing mentality, the artist revealed his decision to scale back live appearances on Instagram.  Consequently, GORDO has opted to play only a handful of shows in the coming months.

GORDO rose to prominence under the alias Carnage, captivating audiences worldwide with his blend of trap, hip-hop, and electronic music. His meteoric rise saw him headlining major festivals, collaborating with A-list artists such as Hardwell, Borgore, and Timmy Trumpet.  Since his reinvention, GORDO has boasted collaborations with more major names like Mochakk, Martinez Brothers, and Adriatique.

In his candid post, GORDO expressed a desire to prioritize his well-being and focus on quality over quantity. Citing the lack of time to process his recent milestones, he further emphasized the need to step back and recalibrate. Specifically, GORDO wrote that he’s been working so hard “tryna prove everyone wrong that I haven’t really taken time to myself to enjoy these wins”.

Importantly, he asked fans to add venue suggestions in the comments, as he will only be playing 3-4 more U.S. shows in 2024.  The decision to limit his performances comes as a surprise to many, given GORDO’s reputation for constant traveling and features on top lineups.  Throughout his career, GORDO has maintained a rigorous touring schedule, delivering high-energy sets to sold-out crowds across the globe.

Despite his recent decision to slow down, GORDO continues to be a luminary in the landscape of contemporary electronic music. As fans eagerly await the specifics of his exclusive U.S. performances, GORDO’s inimitable show presence will undoubtedly garner wide support. Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
