Kaskade Replaces Tiësto For Super Bowl DJ Performance
Kaskade heads to the Super Bowl this weekend as the first in-game DJ after Tiësto pulls out due to a “family emergency.”
The Super Bowl will have a new DJ this weekend as Kaskade replaces Tiësto to become the first official in-game DJ for the big event. The latter was forced to cancel his appearance in Las Vegas due to a “personal family emergency.”
Announcing the news on social media, Tiësto wrote “Me and my team have been preparing something truly special for months, but a personal family emergency is forcing me to return home Sunday morning. It was a tough decision to miss the game, but family always comes first. Thank you to the NFL for the collaboration and looking forward to working with them to deliver something incredible together in the future.”
Hours later, Kaskade and the NFL shared a post on Instagram to update fans that all would be well. He expressed his deep connection to the Super Bowl, stating that it holds a special place in his heart. Being the first DJ to contribute to the Super Bowl is almost like a homecoming for him.
He shared, “As a kid who grew up in Chicago watching the Super Bowl every year with my family this chance to be part of it is absolutely mind-blowing. Las Vegas has been my second home for the past decade, as an architect of creating a landscape that includes House and Dance Music residencies as part of its destination. To be able to be the first Electronic Musician to be part of the full game experience of the Super Bowl held in Las Vegas seems like coming home, and I’m beyond excited to represent my community.”
The Super Bowl 2024 will feature a showdown between the Kansas City Chief and the San Francisco 49ers at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this Sunday. While Usher will headline the half time show, other pre-game performers include Reba McEntire, Post Malone, and Andra Day.
