John Summit Takes Seaplane to Groove Cruise Set
John Summit makes a grand entrance to 2024’s Groove Cruise as he takes a seaplane to his set.
Groove Cruise attendees and artists have recently taken the highwaters from the port of Miami to the private island of Great Stirrup Cay in The Bahamas from Wednesday, January 24, to Sunday, January 28. Artists who could not be on board for the entirety of the Groove Cruise, like John Summit, typically take a seaplane to join attendees for a night of EDM bliss.
This year’s festival celebrated its 20th anniversary aboard the luxurious Norwegian Encore. With 96 hours of nonstop music, the festival offered artist workshops, mental health panels, Whet Foundation volunteer opportunities, and exclusive immersive programming.
In a now-deleted Instagram story, John Summit documented his experience aboard the seaplane, expressing that he was “nervy” to take his first one ever. As a veteran performer for the cruise, the iconic DJ performed a special version of his John Summit & Friends stage takeover.
During his Groove Cruise performance, the house and techno DJ performed an unreleased track titled “Shiver.” As he has teased this song before, fans flood his comment section with excitement and anticipation for it to officially be on streaming services. While the track is upbeat, he expresses that it’s the “most emotional record” he’s ever made.
Alongside John Summit, the cruise provided a stellar lineup of performances from artists like Tiësto, Diplo, LP Giobbi’s acclaimed Femme House project, Aly & Fila, and many others. The cruise continued to impress fans with a wide variety of performers for all fans of electronic dance music to enjoy.
The DJ released a new remix of The Temper Trap’s song “Sweet Disposition” on the 25th alongside Silver Panda. Besides new remixes already released early into the new year, John Summit will perform at iconic festivals such as Coachella, Electric Forest, and Badlands. Other performances the DJ has lined up are posted on his official website.
