Destructo Slams Billy McFarland After Fyre Festival II Pre-Sale Tickets Go Live Without Lineup

Fyre Festival’s Billy McFarland has taken to Twitter to announce the pre-sale for Fyre Festival II and Destructo chirps back.

Destructo has taken to Twitter to clap back at Billy McFarland’s Fyre Festival II announcement late last week. Billy McFarland, the con-man, behind the original Fyre Festival, has announced a second Fyre Festival in the making sharing that pre-sale tickets are available.

Not only are these tickets outrageously priced, with the starting pre-sale ticket costing $3,500 to the “Prometheus” ticket at $1,022,057.06, the ticket cost is greatly out of budget for the regular festival attendee. Even crazier that there has not been a single artist announced for this steeply-priced festival.

It should probably be mentioned that Billy McFarland was just released from prison in 2022 where he was serving his sentence for wire fraud in New York City. The orginal Fyre Festival was slated to occur in the spring of 2017 with two weekends and 33 artists set to perform. The festival never happened and resulted in a 100 million dollar lawsuit, documentaries, a prison stint, and soggy sandwiches.

Some of the artists that were supposed to headline are some rather large names in the scene. With the help of Ja Rule, Billy McFarland “secured” some of the largest talents of 2017 for the event such as Major Lazer, Disclosure, Kaytranada, Matoma, Klingande, Skepta, Claptone, Le Youth, Tensnake, Blond:ish, Bedouin and Lee Burridge. All of these artists would pull out days leading up to the event.

Destructo was not having it! The producer and DJ, who just pulled off a wonderful cruise Festival, Friendship Festival, wrote, “Bro do us all a favor and find a new career…” Destructo interacted with other commenters’ posts regarding the idea that artists have to pay for their slot, as they are selling $50,000 Artist Passes available. Destructo then followed up with this tweet, “I try really hard to not talk bad about other people but this one issue hits very close to home.”

Clear to see artists are not happy with what could be Billy McFarland’s second all-time con. Only time will tell to see if Fyre Festival II goes off on December 6th, 2024.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
