Movement Detroit Shares First Look at House-Infused 2024 Lineup
Detroit’s techno festival Movement has announced the first 20 acts for their 2024 lineup with more to come.
As festival lineup announcement season comes into full swing, Movement Festival has released a sneak peek at their lineup for Memorial Day weekend 2024. The lineup teaser includes 20 acts to give fans a taste of what’s to come at this year’s festival at Hart Plaza in Detroit.
Traditionally a techno-centric festival, this sneak peek of Movement’s 2024 lineup features a surprising number of artists from other genres. A few big names in house music are featured in English icons Gorgon City, red-hot rising artist LP Giobbi, and beloved DJ Honey Dijon. Several genre-bending artists that are tough to put a label on are listed as well, including legends Skream and Fatboy Slim and the hip-hop-infused Goldie (featuring a live band) and James Blake.
Two fascinating b2b sets are included in the lineup teaser, as well. German techno icon Boys Noize will share the stage with Polish techno up-and-comer VTSS for what is sure to be an inventive and riveting set. In an eye-catching booking, Michigan native and veteran DJ Kevin Saunderson will team up with renowned actor Idris Elba, who began DJing at around 15 years old and makes occasional special appearances on the decks to much fanfare.
Despite dipping into some other genres, techno is of course well-represented on Movement’s lineup teaser. Beyond Boys Noize b2b VTSS, artists such as 999999999, I Hate Models, Jaguar, Sama Abdulhadi, and Solomun will bring the beats for the techno-heads in Detroit. Movement has also assured fans that there will be plenty more techno artists to come when the full lineup is announced in due time.
