Swedish House Mafia Reaches 1 Billion Streams on ‘Don’t You Worry Child’

Over a decade after its release, the iconic electronic dance song by Swedish House Mafia has officially hit 1 billion streams.

In a monumental moment, “Don’t You Worry Child” by Swedish House Mafia has been awarded the milestone of reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify. That number has not accounted for the millions of streams the song has earned on other platforms. The official music video has garnered over 950 million views on YouTube.

The track has become a classic in electronic dance music and helped define a new era of progressive house. John Martin’s vocals and heartfelt lyrics on top of an emotional instrumental had helped create an iconic song.

Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso came together to form Swedish House Mafia at the end of 2008. Just four years later, the trio announced they would take a hiatus and released “Don’t You Worry Child” as their last single. The sentimental video consisted of clips from their last performance in England at the National Bowl.

About the moment, Swedish House Mafia wrote, “It’s beyond incredible to see that 12 years and 1 billion streams later, ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ continues to resonate and create memorable moments for so many people out there.”

“Your embrace has made ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ a timeless piece in both our lives and yours!” they continued. Before the song gained an impressive 1 billion streams, the song debuted at number one in the United Kingdom and became the trio’s first top 10 single in the United States.

The three producers ended their 5-year break in 2018 when they surprised fans by closing at Ultra Music Festival. Since then, they have released one album and several singles. Watch the video for “Don’t You Worry Child” by Swedish House Mafia with John Martin here:
