Jade Cicada Postpones NOLA Show Citing “Cost of Living Crisis”

NOLA is a NO-GO as Jade Cicada has postponed his show due to the “cost of living crisis.

Jade Cicada postpones his NOLA show for January 2024 to a later date, citing the “cost of living crisis” as the reasoning. Pushing back the date for the performance is not ideal for the DJ, but he is currently working with the venue to find a date that will allow ticket holders to reschedule flights and hotels. Information about the new date will be known next month due to limited staff over the holidays.

In the postponed announcement, Cicada relates to fans describing his current experience with the living crisis that is occurring worldwide. He gets personal with his fans, stating that he has been “sleeping on a couch in my hometown for three years” and is in the same boat as many others.

He continues in the post by explaining how many concerts don’t see ticket sales until the week of the show. People on his post began to wonder if low ticket sales were a reason behind the postponement, but he commented back to user @camo.culture saying, “tickets never went on sale” for the NOLA show. Moving the date will allow for more promotion, resulting in more people interested in attending the concert.

Fans responded positively to the Instagram post, leaving comments that expressed their understanding of difficult living situations. One person commented he was “starting a gofundme” for the DJ to get him a bed, to which Cicada replied that he is “pleased to report I have a bed as of this month 🙌.”

While the New Orleans show is postponed until a later date, Cicada still plans to perform on NYE in Brooklyn at the King’s Theatre. Performances spanning over the 30th and 31st will see the likes of Mickman, Charles Nimbus, Datagrama, Jonathan Singer, The Void, and many others. Tickets for the NYE show are still on sale and can be purchased here.

2023 was a busy year for the DJ as he dropped his latest project ‘Pressure Gamut’ on January 1st. Since then, he’s performed different shows throughout the country and promoted the project with different merchandise in his online store. The album is available for streaming on all platforms now.
