More than ever, a multitude of artists have taken on this trend throughout 2023, and electronic music lovers from all over the world have been exposed to its exotic and culturally inspired soundscapes unlike ever before.
Artists from every speck of the globe have gained immense inspiration from Latin-derived beats, and some have even released tracks that remained on the top of the Beatport charts for weeks and even months on end. If there’s anything the year 2023 brought, it’s a wide array of Latin House heaters from artists of all calibers. The captivating and soul-stirring house music subgenre is only bound to skyrocket even further into 2024, but to celebrate its ongoing glory, Exron Music has curated a list of the best Latin-inspired house tracks of this year below.
“Beso (Fruta Fresca)” – Wakyin, Carlos Vives
These past couple of months, up-and-coming artist Wakyin has blown up on TikTok all thanks to his moving remixes of Latin classics from artists like Juan Luis Guerra, Plan B, Wisin Y Yandel, and many others. One track of his that stood out is his phenomenal rework of Colombian artist Carlos Vives’s “Fruta Fresca”. The track was released just a few weeks ago and has already reached the #2 spot on Beatport’s Afro-house charts. Wakyin’s “Fruta Fresca” is a modernized ode to Colombian Afro-Latin American culture.
“Hijos De La Noche” – Shermanology
Shermanology has been on the rise with their hypnotic house releases. The brother and sister musical duo is renowned for their upbeat and dancefloor-perfect soundscapes. One of their 2023 top hits, “Hijos De La Noche” from their ‘Roots’ EP was a mainstay track in many DJ sets across various shows and festivals all year long. Throughout the track, they seamlessly combine their Dutch and Curaçao roots with moving Latin vocals and heavy tech-house notes.
“The Dream” – Adam Port, Theus Mago, Keinemusik, Martina Camargo
There’s no doubt that Keinemusik aka Rampa, Adam Port, &ME, and Reznik have been a hot commodity all of 2023. One of their most recent releases, “The Dream”, features house artist Theus Mago and the revolutionary Colombian artist Martina Camargo. The original version is a highly renowned Tambora song in South America. Tambora is a unique Colombian Caribbean genre that includes a mixture of African, European, and Indigenous influences, and Keinemusik and Theus Mago’s house rendition of the tune encapsulates these exotic melodies up to par but with a modernized twist.
“La Bulla” – Andruss, Many Malon
This tech-house heater titled “La Bulla” by Andruss and Many Malon has made its way onto various dance floors across cities with a dominant Latin American and Hispanic population. They are recognized profoundly in Latin American and Spanish cities like their hometown of Mexico City, Santiago, Buenos Aires, and Madrid to name a few due to their unique fusion of Latin sounds with pulsating house melodies. Their 2023 release “Morena” with Andruss and Kuisitambó was a hit with its drum-heavy percussions and tribal vocals. “Oye” – San Pacho

The dynamic house music duo holds a wide demographic of listeners across various Latin American countries like Chile, Argentina, and Mexico, so it makes sense why they further dived into curating Latin-inspired house singles recently. The nostalgia of “Dos Gardenias” makes listeners feel like they’re vacationing in a historic hacienda somewhere in South America or a villa somewhere in the Caribbean.
“Adios” – Cumbiafrica, Chico Rose
Released on Spinnin’ Deep, “Adios” by Cumbiafrica and Chico Rose has been a staple in the dance music sphere even for those unfamiliar with Latin culture. Cumbiafrica is a musical group formed in the Caribbean region of Colombia and has played a tremendous role in the Latin house movement. They’ve released top-of-the-charts worthy tracks like “Morenita”, “El Aguila”, and “El Sueño” – and “Adios” featuring Chico Rose is no different. Anyone who knows anything about music is familiar with Santana’s idolized song, “Maria Maria”. Amsterdam-based house music guru TECH IT DEEP had the brilliant idea of creating a revamped house-heavy version of the renowned single, and it has been a hit throughout every speck of the globe. So much so, that a snippet of this phenomenal re-work was one of the most saved and used sounds on TikTok and Instagram Reels in 2023.
