Steve Aoki Partners with Riot Games to Compose Soundtrack for ‘Teamfight Tactics: Remix Rumble’
Steve Aoki + Riot Games = Unexpected Perfection
Riot Games, an American video game developer, recently dropped a music collaboration titled ‘Teamfight Tactics: Remix Rumble,’ replete with 29 stellar tracks. The tracks feature creative landscapes from producers such as Bill Hemstapat, Kole Hicks, Seth Tsui, J.D. Spears, and fan favorite Steve Aoki. Mr. Aoki is a two-time Grammy-nominated producer, artist, cake-thrower, and international sensation.
This album is the official soundtrack for Riot’s top strategy game, Teamfight Tactics (TFT), after which it’s named. The official music video for ‘REMIX RUMBLE,’ which features Steve Aoki, already has 30 million views on the Teamfight Tactics YouTube channel. The 29 tracks can also be downloaded for free across multiple platforms such as Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, and YouTube music.
‘Teamfight Tactics: Remix Rumble’ showcases remixes not only from world-renowned DJs such as Steve Aoki but also from in-house composers and up-and-coming artists, producers who took inspiration from Riot’s team of visual artists, K-pop group K/DA, hip-hop group True Damage, and heavy metal band Pentakill among others.
Riot Games was founded in the early 2000s with the mission to “develop, publish, and support the most player-focused games in the world.” Riot Games released League of Legends in 2009, which has become the most-played computer game in the world. Riot Games has since expanded from League of Legends, creating projects such as VALORANT, Riot Forge, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics. The company has developed music, comic books, board games, and even an Emmy-nominated animated series. Riot is currently based in Los Angeles, but has 4,500+ Rioters in 20+ offices internationally, coming a long way since its pipe dream roots.
Teamfight Tactics, which launched in 2019, is a “free-for-all strategy game” and is the leading game in the auto battler genre. It’s similar to League of Legends Champions in that it uses formations to defeat other players in a match, creating a chess-like simulation that is intensely engaging, deeply satisfying, and perfectly paired with a Steve Aoki jam sesh.
