Dom Dolla Hits BBC Radio 1 for First Essential Mix After Grammy Nomination
Grammy-nominated house music DJ and producer Dom Dolla “puts blood, sweat, and beer” into new BBC1 Radio Essential Mix.
Our beloved Chef Dominic Matheson, famously known as Dom Dolla, is riding on an all-time high after receiving his Grammy nomination for producing the ‘New Gold’ remix alongside Gorillaz and Tame Impala. The artist has achieved incredible milestones that have solidified his career as a talented producer and DJ. This successful remix marks Dom Dolla’s seventh #1 hit on the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Club Chart while making his mark as #32 on the main Top 100 Singles Chart.
In recent news, Dom took to Twitter to share with fans a surprising announcement. The Australian-bred producer posted on Twitter (now “X”?) a screenshot clip of his Macbook desktop with a folder titled “BBC Essential Mix”. Dom showed much excitement over the project, telling fans he put his blood, sweat, and beers (lol) into this baby.
The mix contains two hours of pure back-to-back bangers, hitters, and full smoke. The mix is introduced with a casual nighttime drive through the city with Jessie Andrew’s song “Slowly”. The most creative part of Dom Dolla’s production is his ability to make every set completely from the last. You will never go to the same Dom Dolla set twice.
When you get to about 44:28, you will immediately recognize a fun tune, completely elevated with an amped-up sound that will leave you with your permanent “drop face” on. If every Uber ride was anything close to Dom Dolla’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, I would never get to the club.
Did anyone also catch the folder named “Shirtless Chris Lake Pics”? Now we know what he looks at before going to bed. Up-and-coming dirtybird artist, OMNOM, made sure to peep the folder with a hehe haha reply. Classic Dom, finding any moment to love up on Chris Lake.
