Dillon Francis and Valentino Kahn Dress as Publix Employees for EDC Orlando B2B
On November 10, Dillon Francis and Valentino Khan took the main stage at EDC Orlando for an epic B2B performance. You probably think these two world-renowned artists came together, planned a set, flew to Orlando, and played a killer high-energy set. Yes, all of that is true, but what you didn’t expect is the fact that these guys dressed up as Publix workers during their set.
Publix is one of the largest and most prominent grocery store chains in Florida. Additionally, the majority of Publix chains are located all around Florida. Anyone who lives in the Sunshine State swears that Publix is the best grocery store and that no other chain can compete with the Southeastern conglomerate.
Both Khan and Francis could be seen wearing the iconic Publix polo, apron, and uniform hat. Furthermore, what made this set a million times better was that Dillon and Valentino brought 100 Publix subs with them.
This duo not only came dressed as Publix workers but they catered food for the rave they were playing for. Throughout their set, they could be seen tossing full Publix subs into the crowd. Whoever was able to snag a sandwich was lucky, since they didn’t need to leave in order to refuel. The festival hosted roughly 520,000 last weekend, therefore, whoever received a sub essentially won the Publix lottery.
Lastly, it’s these little stunts that add to an artist’s brand. Who would have that throwing on a Publix outfit and handing out some subs during a performance would garnish so much praise within the industry?
As we reach the end of the year, be sure to keep up with both artists as they begin to play their final shows of the year. Maybe in 2024, the duo will find a new food establishment to impersonate.
