Sebastian Leger Slams Clubs that Prioritize VIP Attendees Over General Admission
Sebastian Leger criticizes VIP priority treatment and advocates for an inclusive clubbing experience where everyone is “all equal.”
French House DJ Producer Sébastien Léger has taken to social media to express his frustration with clubs that prioritize VIP attendees over general admission. He has posted a video of himself stating that he had just “finished playing a show in Mexico and the club had a great idea of putting VIP tables around the DJ booth.” He has also expressed his disapproval as the venue also put chains around the dancefloor where attendees who did not have the right pass could not access the dancefloor.
Calling them. “morons,” he wrote in his caption along with the video post, “I literally had to stop the music for a minute, and shout “remove those f***ing tables!!!” Acknowledging that it was not the first time that he had witnessed a situation like that, Léger emphasized his disdain for the way the club manages its exclusive treatment of VIP guests.
In his post, he also boldly declared in text “DO NOT PUT VIP TABLES IN FRONT OF THE DJ BOOTH.” As a huge advocate for people being “ALL EQUAL,” Léger further wrote in his post “I’m playing music for all, not for just one type of people, what you are doing is just creating a separation between the poor and the rich. Nothing else. This is not what I stand for.”
Léger’s outspoken criticism of VIP exclusivity sheds light on the ongoing tension experienced by many club-goers around the world. His vocal stance resonates with the belief that the dancefloor should be more than a stage for VIP guests. Rather, it should be a unifying space for everyone from all walks of life to come together and share their love for music.
It remains to be seen whether Léger’s words will influence a shift in the venue’s approach to revising its VIP services and amenities. Overall, the call for inclusivity on the dancefloor also reflects a broader desire within dance music lovers to advocate for change towards a more welcoming and harmonious environment in venues.
