MEDUZA Share Invigorating Self-Titled EP
MEDUZA has released their self-titled EP with two sides – one with songs ready for the radio and one hitting the deeper side of house music.
The Grammy-nominated group, consisting of Luca De Gregorio, Matt Vitale, and Simone Giani, came together in Italy in 2018. Their music quickly rose on the charts and MEDUZA is continuing to change the game with their self-titled EP. “Phone” with Sam Tompkins and Em Beihold kicks ‘MEDUZA’ off, setting the tone for the first half of the EP with familiar beats and a curation of more commercialized songs.
The next two songs, “Piece Of Your Heart” and “Lose Control,” are songs with Goodboys that have each garnered almost 1 billion streams on Spotify. ‘Room 1’ has collaborations with prominent names in the industry, including Dermot Kennedy on “Paradise” and Hozier on “Tell It To My Heart.” The first disc ends with “Bad Memories,” taking the listener on a journey with an electric guitar building up to an energetic drop.
‘Room 2’ changes the pace with house music inspired by underground 90s raves. The six tracks are dark and mysterious, using deep bass and vocal chops. The second half begins with “Everything You Have Done,” a collaboration with GENESI who is later featured on “Ecstasy.”
Poppy Baskcomb’s beautiful voice is layered on top of hard-hitting beats on “Upside Down.” ‘Room 2’ flows through distorted vocals and synths on “Friends” and “Obsession” before “Back Again” officially completes ‘MEDUZA.’
“This project tells the story and journey from the beginning of MEDUZA to where we are now as artists and a feeling of where we will go in the future. As a group, we are always trying to push house music globally on both the radio, in the clubs, and beyond. We hope that this EP shows everyone both sides of MEDUZA that we love,” the trio said.
MEDUZA is coming off of a summer filled with sold-out shows and two residencies at Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza. Listen to the group’s largest body of work, ‘MEDUZA,’ here:
