Fred Again.. Delivers “Ten” out of Ten Performance at Forest Hills in NYC

An impressively large venue, Forest Hills Stadium provided the perfect forum for fans to catch Fred Again and enjoy the fleeting warmth.

As the saying goes, everyone and their mothers were at Forest Hills Stadium for Fred Again..’s three-night extravaganza. Thousands gathered from far and wide, some all three nights, many entering as doors opened to secure a prime spot. And without fault, Fred truly succeeded at making everyone in attendance feel seen, even amid a sea of people.

Fred Again..  led with his distinctive intro routine, projecting a short message to his fans before the music started.  Namely, Fred highlighted how New York was his favorite U.S. city to play in.  And if Fred’s last stint in NYC is any reliable indication, we absolutely cannot get enough of him either.

Night after night, Fred’s followership somehow covered every last square inch of the floor, as well as the bowl seats. Never have I encountered someone as genuinely surprised as Fred, who visibly couldn’t fathom the number of people there for him when he shined the overheads on the crowd. As I reflect on every Fred Again.. show I’ve attended, I realize there are few fan bases nearly as loyal and emotionally dialed as his.

Fred Again.. put on an incredibly dynamic performance, walking across the stadium at points to perform from another vantage point. Apart from fan favorites like “Turn On the Lights” and “Marea,” Fred also played his newest single “Ten” featuring Jozzy which dropped on October 13th.  Furthermore, he played never-before-heard mixes incorporating the crowd’s chants in real-time, as well as a “Jungle” remix of “Rumble.”

The British DJ/producer’s carefully crafted, emotive, and inspirational tracks have garnered the awe and adoration of most in the industry. Despite masterminding countless award-winning songs and albums, Fred Again.. remained under the radar until his legendary Boiler Room set. Since experiencing such a meteoric rise, however, Fred has remained his same humble and personable self.

It often seems like the musical maestro forgets he is famous, a quality that makes him all the more endearing. Fred’s forward-thinking approach to music and production has led him to expand his reach to remote and unfrequented venues worldwide. Moreover, his effortless invocation of the full spectrum of emotions is a skill that keeps us coming back for more.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
