Following the announcement of his first live show after three years, Bassnectar returned to the deck at Las Vegas’ Daylight Beach Club in Mandalay Bay over the weekend. Previously, there was ongoing uncertainty regarding the status of the event as many speculated that organizers pulled out in the final hour as the FREAKSTYLE event in Asheville had been postponed.

Last week, he took to social media to address the allegations and debates surrounding his return to the scene. While the caption does not directly engage with his misconduct, he expressed his thoughts on “cancel culture” and how “it’s a modern form of domestic terrorism, where disturbed individuals incite chaos through lies, hostility, and intimidation.” Further asserting his commitment to hold individuals accountable, he added, “Cancel culture is obsessed with destruction. We do not destroy. We create.”

Along with a psychedelic-esque posted image, the words “We Don’t Cancel Culture, We Create It” shined prominently as the title. Speaking about the cancellation of the Asheville show, he was adamant that “The city of Asheville was targeted by a campaign of hostility, intimidation, and preposterous lies – in an effort to bring chaos and destruction to our event. We were welcomed by Asheville and promised a safe place for 6,000 bass heads to gather and thrive. We have the right to thrive. It is our mission to bring healing and radiate positive energy all across the country. We will not back down.”

Against the flood of diverse responses that continue to surround Bassnectar, the WILDSTYLE event in Las Vegas concluded successfully with video footage showing the attendees reveling in the event’s atmosphere. The crowd appeared to be thoroughly enjoying themselves in the packed venue and Bassnectar shared a “family photo” of the audience at the end of the night, expressing his gratitude, “WILDSTYLE!!!!! WE LOVE YOU! THANK YOUUUUUUUU.”
