Artists Share Recaps of Ibiza Residencies as 2023 Season Concludes
Ibiza’s highly-favorited resident DJs reminisce on their summer performances as the Ibiza 2023 season comes to an end.
The month of October only signifies one thing in the world of electronic dance music, and sadly, that means that the Ibiza 2023 season closing is upon us. An Ibiza summer is truly one-of-a-kind, especially if you’re an avid dance music enthusiast. From late April to mid-October, some of the most prominent names in the industry perform at the white isle’s leading nightclubs on a weekly basis, many of which make Ibiza their permanent home for the season.
As the peak of the Ibiza 2023 season comes to an end, a wide array of artists have been turning to social media to share recaps of the highlights of their summer residencies. Many have even pointed out that for some reason, this summer in Ibiza has felt even more magical than in the years past, so there must’ve been something in the air on the captivating island this time around.
For some, this year marked the debut of an Ibiza residency in their careers. And of course, these artists were particularly grateful for finally embarking on all the Ibiza summer season madness. Following the finale of their residencies at Ushuaïa Ibiza and Club Chinois last weekend, highly-adored Italian trio Meduza and SHÈN label boss Franky Wah shared videos on their Instagram pages featuring heartfelt captions encompassing how in awe they both are about their recent experiences.
Meduza’s video carousel caption read, “We didn’t expect this to be honest, this finale for our first year of residency in Ibiza was magical… but it is what it is we were there and it has been incredible, one for the books 100% Ibiza was something else this summer and we won’t ever forget this season for so many reasons.” They closed out their post by thanking their fans and all who supported them and mentioned “see you next summer,” hinting that they’ll be back for a second-year residency.
On another note, Franky Wah expressed that its “Pretty impossible to write a caption that sums up this summer in Ibiza, but as far as debut residencies go I’d say it was pretty perfect.” Franky’s happiness genuinely eludes throughout the entire recap video, speaking volumes about his authentic character.
His SHÉN brand has exponentially flourished across the globe recently, and it was only fitting that he brought the one-of-a-kind imprint to Ibiza and set down his roots in the pristine dance music mecca. The official SHÉN Instagram page commented “Shèn Sundays is here to stay” on his post, meaning that next summer in Ibiza is a go for Franky Wah as well.
Another fellow Ibiza mainstay, Lee Burridge, has also said his farewells to his ‘All Day I Dream‘ shows that took place at Cova Santa all summer long. The final dreamy dancefloor adventure took place on September 21st, with names like Lee Burridge himself, Yokoo, Gorje Hewek, and more taking over the decks from daytime until dusk for one last time.
Cova Santa’s whimsical and tropical ambiance hosts the perfect locale for the All Day I Dream artistic vision, and it’s definitely a more underground residency that frequent Ibiza-goers should further explore. We’re sad to see it come to an end so early in the season compared to most ongoing parties, but each All Day I Dream event has been nothing short of astounding all summer long.
For those whose residencies haven’t quite come to an end yet, the excitement for their upcoming season-closing parties continues. Pacha resident DJ legends Solomun and Marco Carola have kept on sharing highlights of their ongoing performances via their socials for the time being. As the two most historically iconic parties in Ibiza, Solomun’s ‘Solomun +1’ and Marco Carola’s ‘Music On’ soirees never disappoint.
Both artists have also finally announced the final details of their Ibiza summer season closing performances happening this upcoming week. We already have FOMO that we won’t be there to bask in the thrill of it all in person.
On October 13th, the closing Music On fiesta will consist of a daytime into nighttime 15+ hours bender featuring the likes of Marco Carola himself, Paco Osuna, and Cloonee among many others. The party will begin at the al fresco Destino Ibiza while the sun is still out, followed by “nighttime madness” at the one and only Pacha Ibiza nightclub later in the evening.
Then, on October 15th, Solomun will also perform at Pacha for one last time this summer during his ‘Solomun +1’ showcase alongside Dixon. Trust us, this is one closing party you definitely won’t want to miss.
While this is only a small glimpse into the many multi-faceted artists that hold residencies in Ibiza each summer, it’s obvious just how much the summer season on the most beautiful island in the Balearic Sea means to all of them. Although the Ibiza 2023 season finale is upon us, we’re already counting down the days until the Ibiza 2024 season kicks off – as I’m sure many DJs who have been forced to say their goodbyes to the White Isle are as well.
For those artists who are tearing it up one last time on the island this upcoming week, we know you’re going to absolutely smash it and we can’t wait to see you perform again there next year. April, please hurry up so we can make our way to Ibiza and dance with you all on the dancefloor once again.
