House Music DJ XIE Opens Up About Breast Cancer Scare Before DJ Career

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, XIE shared that she discovered a tumor in her breast six years ago, leading to multiple surgeries.

The house producer shared her story about the breast cancer scare on Instagram with a powerful caption. The first picture shows XIE in a pink beanie, throwing up a peace sign as she covers her chest. The second picture captures the opposite emotion, showing XIE in a hospital bed.

The caption read, “In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, [six] years ago I had the biggest health scare of my life when I had multiple surgeries to remove a tumor in my breast. Thankful it ended up being benign, and thankful for it being the catalyst to finally quit my job and go full force into DJing & producing.”

She continued, “Prioritizing my dreams was the best decision I ever made. Sending love to anyone who’s battling cancer, battled cancer or lost someone to cancer.” XIE ended the post by reminding those reading to care for their health and get checked regularly.

After quitting her job to focus on her health and recovering from surgery, XIE threw herself into electronic dance music. In 2017, the producer dropped singles and remixes that listeners and publications well received. She has crafted her sound, putting her vocals on top of blends of electronic and pop music.

Even in the face of adversity, XIE remains optimistic, and her social media is filled with positivity. Most recently, she appreciated her strength on Twitter, noting that she is fighting for “…happiness, love, [and] success…” for her relationships, music career, and otherwise.

XIE’s story is an important reminder to get checked for breast cancer routinely. We commend XIE for her openness and send her well wishes as she continues her music career and spreads good vibes.
