Juelz Shares Throwback of First Show Ahead of Debut Headline in Hometown Vancouver

As Juelz prepares to headline the Fortune Sound Club in his hometown of Vancouver, the producer looked back on his first-ever show at the same venue.

Since 2016, Juelz has been making his mark in the scene, finding his sound in a combination of hip-hop and electronic music, leaning towards trap. The artist debuted on the side-stage at Fortune Sound Club and on September 22, Juelz is taking over again – this time on the main stage. In celebration of his hometown return, the artist posted two pictures of his first time playing at the club.

Two pictures of a young, 19-year-old Juelz are shown in the Instagram post. Cloaked in dim club lighting, Juelz is captured playing in front of the Fortune Sound Club screen. He wrote, “Nah this is wild. Literally the first gig I ever played was in the side room at this club…19 [year old] me would cry knowing I’ve got a headline show here in 2023.”

“Fortune has always been THE spot for me so it only felt right to do my hometown debut show here,” he continued. Since his beginnings, Juelz has toured with Ekali and most recently, he dropped a collaboration with RL Grime. Juelz has had an impressive year with the release of his debut album, ‘Floorspace.’

Juelz is bringing ‘Floorspace’ all the way to his hometown, creating excitement for fans and the Fortune Sound Club. The venue made a sweet comment on his post, writing “welcome home [pleading face emoji] [hand heart emoji].”

Put on the Brownies & Lemonade, the throwback post confirmed the addition of Vincent and Arya. Arya also played his first show at Fortune Sound Club. A special piece of merchandise for the Vancouver show was teased at the very end.
