Electric Zoo Shares Update on Refunds to Fans After Festival Disruptions

Electric Zoo has given an update to fans regarding forthcoming event refunds after a slew of festival issues.

Electric Zoo had a series of unfortunate events at its festival causing it to completely cancel day one on Friday, namely an unfinished main stage through the event, and refusing entrance to attendees on Sunday due to overcapacity. In original statements from Electric Zoo, it said it would give Friday attendees and denied entrance attendees from Sunday a refund along with that “refund details are to follow.”

A week and a half later Electric Zoo sent out an update explaining they still do not have any details about refunds at this time. “We’re not prepared to offer specifics on the refund process at this time, but we ask for your patience as we navigate the process. We’ll be in touch with the specifics as soon as possible.”

The update has been referred to as cryptic as it said: “This is an extremely difficult time for our team” and “Your trust and support mean everything to us.” Attendees arguably also experienced a very difficult time as well and paid for it.

Electric Zoo told refund-eligible attendees to: “Stay Informed: Keep an eye on official festival communication channels. The festival organizers are likely to provide updates on the refund process.” But it has been keeping everyone on their toes on how long the process will take.

Many Electric Zoo attendees shared backlash regarding the weekend on social media, with their overall experience (although still attempting to have fun in the chaos). Many have expressed that they would like to have their refunds as soon as possible. All attendees missed out on a full day and hundreds missed out on two, along with a long list of other problems.

Electric Zoo made it pretty clear in its Terms and Conditions that it will not issue refunds, but with the level of catastrophe that occurred, it is almost absolutely necessary that they are issued. But how long that will take is unclear.
