Electric Zoo Cancels Day 1 Due to Construction Challenges

Fisher and Chris Lake’s “under construction” brand premiere remains under construction as Electric Zoo cancels Day 1 and issues refunds.

It is with our most profound condolences that we announce that day one of Electric Zoo New York will be canceled due to unforeseeable circumstances. Electric Zoo New York’s official Instagram page released a statement, hours before the festival’s grand opening Friday morning, explaining to ticketholders that the global supply chain disruptions have caused unexpected delays in constructing the main stage.

Unfortunately, with the economic hardships after COVID-19, Electric Zoo New York is not the first festival immune to this tragedy. The New York-based festival will be holding accountable those with one-day and multiple-day tickets by giving out a full refund for Friday festival ticket holders, as well as ferry and bus tickets. For festival goers holding a multiple-day ticket, a “credit” will be given. Similarly, all Friday ferry and bus ticket holders will receive a full refund equivalent to the amount of one day.

As for the Friday day lineup, it is safe to say that Chris Lake and Fisher’s “Under Construction” brand is quite literally under construction as Electric Zoo New York coordinates a resolution for the two prominent DJs to perform back to back. Other artists such as Cloone, Mau P, Honeyluv, Rebuke, Yolanda Be Cool, and Charles Meyer were scheduled to perform today as well.

On the other side of the coin, there are still two magical days to celebrate life, music, and love. Electric Zoo remains on fire for Saturday and Sunday with a heavy lineup, anticipated sets, immersive stages, and killer after-parties. One set that most fans are looking forward to this weekend is legendary b2b John Summit and Dom Dolla. The two will be hosting a world premiere of their “Everything Always” brand on Sunday at the Mega Mirage Stage. City Fox and Gray Area will also be hosting a legendary b2b at the Mega Mirage, an immersive stage experience hosted by the Brooklyn Mirage.

The Exron team will be on site this weekend, so check back for news and updates about Electric Zoo New York!

Yoooo, the homies call me Marz. I am a multidimensional Piscean Latina fairy from Miami-Dade County (no, not Florida). Electronic music has allowed me to appreciate the profound beauty that can be found in finding peace within the chaos. Artists such as Rezz, Skrillex, John Summit, Michael Bibi, and Amtrac blend the two seamlessly, creating a harmonious balance that resonates with me whenever I am on the dancefloor. When I am writing about electronic music, I feel this same balance of peace and chaos moving through me - starting in my hips, filling my heart, and radiating out from my soul. The power of music has brought me to this exact moment, and I only desire that you feel the warmth of the sun through my words.
