Michael Bibi Reaches Halfway Mark of “Difficult” Chemo Journey for Brain Tumor

Solid Grooves legend Michael Bibi celebrates the bittersweet halfway mark of his chemo treatment, reminding fans how hard he’s fighting.

There are things Bibi hasn’t told us – but lately, going out late at night is def not one of them.  Earlier this week, Michael Bibi took to Instagram to update fans on the halfway mark of his chemo journey.  He conveyed how difficult it’s been yet how appreciative he now is for life’s “smallest moments.”

Bibi started the video by saying “This is what 3 months of fighting an aggressive brain tumor looks like.” As he showed fans his bare head, he added that “it’s been tough… [and a] long journey” but he’s determined to make it through. Additionally, he urged the public to “just enjoy life because you never know when s**t is going to change.”

Despite the arduous journey, Bibi looked stylish as ever in the video with a Scotch & Soda tee and a Solid Grooves cap.  The minimal king even showed a glimpse of his laptop and added that he has beats to show us when he gets out. Bibi’s endeavors to keep himself busy and present throughout the process ultimately remind us how resilient he truly is.

Fans and DJs alike immediately flooded the comments with words of encouragement and loving sentiments. Notably, fellow Solid Grooves artist and mate Pawsa called the star “archangel Michael the greatest❤️”. Even Skrillex left a long heartfelt comment, encouraging Bibi to “keep cranking out the tunes for when [he’s] got the inspiration.”

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
