Blunts & Blondes Turns to Followers for Employment

Dubstep DJ Blunts & Blondes has taken to social media for employment opportunities following a career downfall after sexual assault claims.

Blunts & Blondes, whose real name is Michael Guard, has had a major setback in his music career following sexual-assault allegations that came to light in October 2022. The victim alleged that Guard had non-consensual sex with her.

Now, with trouble securing bookings, Guard has openly said he is in need of work. On Instagram, Guard posted a story that said: “looking for employment” and offered to do a wide range of services. The post included a small telling message that said: “Never thought I’d have to do this but here I am. Thank you for your time and consideration.”

This includes services like mix/masterwork, rap, pop, country, or electronic beats, ghost work, production help/lessons, project management and social media consult, podcast management, streaming management, content creation, and tour DJ. Guard added to DM or email him for pricing with his Blunts & Blondes email. The employment requests come as the artist has only had limited show bookings in the past months including Okeechobee in March.

In October last year, the sexual assault allegation was posted in a tweet that Guard assaulted the woman when she was 19 at Borgore’s Foam Wonderland event in Indianapolis on July 27, 2019. She said she would love to fix this problem in private but does not see that ever happening. Adding that she is sure he’d rather attempt to sue her for defamation and insisted she is not lying.

In response, Guard replied saying anyone who knows him knows he would never do such a thing and that he will be moving forward with legal actions. However, it appeared this led to more harm than good for his reputation, as it was faced with backlash from fans.

Although the charges were dropped in February by the victim, it’s unclear if Guard will ever be able to make a full comeback in the music industry. Some dance music fans are still unhappy and the bookings continue to be few and far between.
