Disclosure Drops Fourth Album ‘Alchemy’ with 11 New Singles

ESTEEMED power DUO DISCLOSURE DROPs KALEIDOSCOPIC FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM ‘ALCHEMY’: STREAM IT now.

Disclosures’ fourth studio album ‘Alchemy,’ has been released shortly after the 10-year anniversary of their breakout debut album “Settle.” The album includes a motley lineup of 11 tracks as well as a “back to the basics” approach by having no features or samples on the album. This is slightly offbeat for the brothers as their previous albums are famous for features and samples from the likes of Sam Smith, AlunaGeorge and Vic Mensa.

With the choice of crafting a completely freewheeling album from just the brother’s collaboration, the album has also been released under their record label Apollo Records. This is the first independent release since their departure from Capital Records who in the past had been an outlet for their releases.

“This record is a celebration of us feeling liberated right now,” Guy spoke when highlighting the direction of their album. “We’re no longer signed to a major record label. We’re not going to tour this record. We can do whatever we like and be super creative.”

It has been reported that the two completed this album while both experience two different stages in their life (like many siblings experience.) At the time of the making of ‘Alchemy,’ Howard was “reeling from heartbreak and exhausted from a 150-date tour,” while his brother Guy had recently wed and settled down in Laurel Canyon, LA.

Though the album highlights motifs of heartbreak and sadness, it is evident that the tracks emulate an admiration and appreciation of the two emotions. The title of the album ‘Alchemy’ refers to the state of mind that the brothers were in when creating their album. In a press release, the pair explained they wanted to “turn this horrible feeling into something beautiful.” Later saying, “The whole idea was to channel pain into beauty – which, in hindsight, is always the aim.”

The collection of tracks featured on the album come to life due to the tandem of Howard’s pop songcraft mixed with Guy’s production range creating “jungle breaks and trance-like supersaw synth riffs to rapid tempo four-to-the-floor club tracks.”

The two premiered their album early for lucky fans at first-come-first-serve release parties in both London and New York hours before their midnight drop. The album has been admired by fans around the world and has received overwhelming support from artists Oliver Heldens, Mochakk, and Duke Dumont,.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
