What to Know Before You Go to Electric Forest 2023

From wristband and camping information to some essentials, here are a few key things to know before entering the forest in Rothbury, Michigan, from June 22 to June 25.

With headliners including ODESZA, Illenium, Zeds Dead, Above and Beyond, and hundreds more acts, Electric Forest is a four-day experience complete with camping, art installations, and safety at the forefront of their minds. The festival is massive in the industry and on its grounds with multiple campsites and stages. Before even arriving, the festival recommends using the directions to each campsite on their website instead of GPS services.

To enter, everyone is receiving a wristband that can be registered for their Loyalty Program on their mobile app, available on the App Store and Google Play. Those who have not gotten their wristbands will need to visit the box office with their photo IDs. Vehicle Passes must be purchased to get into the GA Campgrounds which open on Thursday at midnight and close at 4 pm on Monday.

One “Main Entrance” from the GA campgrounds is on the South end of the venue by the Ferris wheel. VIP campgrounds can access the festival from the Ranch Arena, the middle of Sherwood Forest, or near Sherwood Court. Empty water bottles and hydration packs are allowed and can be filled at water stations, but glass is not permitted.

While the goal is to have fun, it is just as important to stay hydrated and bring nutrient-dense food. Be sure to bring earplugs, an array of clothes for unexpected weather, and other health or hygiene products. Lockers are ready to be rented for the weekend and come with a battery pack.

As always, the community at Electric Forest is one of the most significant parts of the weekend. Caring for, loving, and supporting each other continues to be a significant part of the culture. The festival is standing by the mantra, “See something, say something,” and has security, ground control, and medical tents around the site.

Remember to respect each other and the beautiful area around the festival. For a full list of rules and resources, visit Electric Forest’s official website to get ready for the memorable festival. Take a look back at last year’s event here:
