DJ Diesel Makes History with Largest Bass Music Festival in Texas: Shaq’s Bass All-Stars

DJ DIESEL, FAMOUSLY KNOWN AS NBA HALL-OF-FAMER SHAQUILLE O’NEAL, WILL BE HOSTING HIS FIRST0-EVER ALL-BASS FESTIVAL ON SEPTEMBER 16TH.

Taking place at Panther Island in Fort Worth, Texas, “Shaq’s Bass All-Stars Festival,” will be making history as Texas’ largest bass music festival welcoming 10,000 headbangers together for one day. The lineup is nothing short of impressive with hand-picked bass acts like Alison Wonderland, Sullivan King, Kai Wachi, Crankdat, and a performance by DJ Diesel himself.

Shaq launched his professional music career in 1993, when he dropped his first ever rap album “SHAQ DIESEL,” selling millions of copies around the world. After retiring from the NBA in 2011 – Shaq participated in various activities including broadcasting as a sports analyst but shot back into his music career with an international debut at Tomorrowland in 2015.

Shaq shared why he chose to pursue a career in electronic music in his interview with Grant Cardone saying, “I do it because it gives me the same feeling as basketball.” He later explains that he feels a similar adrenaline rush felt by many in his infectious and energetic performances.

Over the last few years, DJ Diesel has had a remarkable catalog playing some of the most beloved EDM festivals including Ultra, EDC Vegas, and Electric Forest. It may be a shock to many who aren’t familiar with the success of DJ Diesel, but this isn’t the first festival he has commenced. His first successful festival, “Shaq’s Fun House,” debuted at Miami Music Week in 2018, which has been a hub for electronic music lovers throughout the years. In a recent interview with Billboard, Shaq explains how he is, “building this festival for all my headbangers out there.” He highlights the importance of making it feel like a safe place, saying he is, “excited for this to be a home for bass music fans throughout Texas that we can create a community around.”

Shaq’s mission also includes supporting promising young producers – “I’ve got a big platform, and I love to support up-and-coming acts as well … Some of these little guys on the lineup are just as good as the headliners, and that’s what Shaq’s Bass All-Stars is all about … It doesn’t matter who is performing if we are all together having a great time and head banging.”

The festival will also include some of Shaq’s favorite Texas food trucks as well as Shaq-sized production levels, interactive brand activations, and some over-the-top photo moments. Produced by Medium Rare and Disco Donnie – festival goers should expect nothing but the most professional setting, as the team behind this celebration of bass music has an extensive history in event production in the music industry. You can purchase presale tickets on Friday, June 23rd at 10 am CST using this link, and make sure to check out DJ Diesel on his summer tour in your area. My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
