Rodriguez Jr. Spins Live Set at CityFox Regenerate in Brooklyn

Rodriguez Jr. gave Cityfox showgoers a treat last weekend with a live set in Kings Hall.

Last weekend Cityfox took over the Brooklyn Mirage for Cityfox Regenerate, beginning at 7 PM and ending around 7 AM, attendees were in for a little treat of an all-night techno and house show, and it did not disappoint. Spanning 3 stages, Cityfox was able to completely transform the Brooklyn Mirage into a micro-dosed festival overflowing with good vibes from start to finish. 12 artists took the various stages over the night and the talent was strong, Rodriguez Jr. flexed his muscles playing a live set in Kings Hall.

Rodriguez Jr. delivered an unforgettable and captivating performance. Fresh off the release of “Feathers & Bones“, Rodriguez Jr. was a wizard on stage. His set was able to showcase his unique blend of melodic techno and deep house, creating an immersive experience that transported the audience to Tulum. Brooklyn didn’t feel like Brooklyn, somehow it was even better.

The Brooklyn Mirage is known for its cutting-edge sound system and the bass reverberates intensely in Kings Hall which provided the perfect backdrop for Rodriguez Jr.’s musical journey. The crowd, a mix of devoted fans and curious newcomers, eagerly awaited the artist’s appearance and filled the hall to the doors. The energy in the room was electric.

From the moment Rodriguez Jr. took control of the decks, it was clear that we were in for something fun. Each track seamlessly blended into the next, creating a continuous flow that kept bodies moving and minds entranced. Rodriguez Jr.’s live performance was a masterclass in artistry.

One of the standout moments of the show was when Rodriguez Jr. premiered new material, each drop better than the last. Rodriguez Jr.’s stage presence heightened the enthusiasm of the crowd as they embraced the fresh sounds, showing their appreciation for his creative exploration and evolution.

Rodriguez Jr. is one of the many artists that put on a clinic for showgoers. Nora En Pure, seemingly controlled the weather as it started raining at the perfect time in her set, not a single beat drop went without a breeze or a raindrop. The rain reflecting on the lasers created an ethereal glitter-like visual in the sky.

Agents of Time had full crowd control as they also played a live set that will be ingrained in my memory for years to come. 8kays had a mesmerizing visual production with lasers enveloping the sky and enchanting the crowd for her debut Mirage show. Miss Monique topped the night off (or morning) with a techno set of your dreams, only in NYC would a crowd be chanting “one more song” at 7 AM after a night of dancing and partying.

One of the most fun stages I was able to experience was The Village. This stage was hidden in the back where the greenrooms are located and had the most intimate vibe making it a delightful experience. Monkey Safari and YokoO popped off with some afro house throughout the night and early morning – watching the sun come up while listening to YokoO was a legendary experience.

In the end, Rodriguez Jr.’s and others’ performance at Cityfox Regenerate was nothing short of extraordinary. Those fortunate enough to attend are left with memories that will remain and an eagerness for the next Cityfox takeover.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
