Fans in Uproar as Space Miami Denoted to Number 36 Club in the World

Where do you rank Club Space on the Top 100 Clubs list?

Club Space, an iconic establishment in Miami and a cultural movement in its own right, has stirred up a storm of controversy among fans after ranking a seemingly low #36 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs list. This global compilation of nightlife destinations saw Hi Ibiza secure the coveted #1 spot, while notable venues like Printworks, Echostage, Boothaus, Avant Gardner & The Brooklyn Mirage, Berghain, Fabrik, Academy LA, and Hakkasan claimed higher positions.

However, many argue that comparing these venues is like contrasting apples and oranges, as Club Space stands alone in terms of its music, atmosphere, and overall vibe, rather than merely serving as a rental stage. Enthusiastic supporters of Club Space took to Twitter realm to express their distaste over the club’s ranking, adamantly asserting that it deserved better recognition.

One person wrote an explainer thread discussing how higher-ranked clubs offered many of the same elements including lighting, VIP spaces, and an aesthetic venue. He continued on to say, “I mean a 24-hour venue that you can see the sunrise by itself separates Space from the others… To add to that artists playing marathon sets 10, 20, 30 hours isn’t even possible in almost the entire list.”

For electronic music enthusiasts in Miami, a night out at Club Space is practically a rite of passage. The venue’s long events prompt fans to meticulously plan and prepare for a night of uninhibited dancing until the sun breaks the horizon.

Thus, it is no surprise that the #36 ranking has been met with indignation, with some supporters calling it “nothing short of an insult”. While others say the venue is “easily upper echelon in the world especially when you consider Miami as an international and cultural hub for electronic music”.

In the eyes of fervent fans, Club Space remains an unparalleled institution that defies conventional comparisons. Its unique blend of music, ambiance, and the transformative experience it offers has solidified its position as a beloved symbol of Miami’s electronic music scene.

My introduction to the scene was first influenced by trap music, but my discography has since expanded to touch a bit of everything. Some of my favorite artists are Zeds Dead, Cloonee, Nghtmre, Flume, Infekt, Sosa, Bleu Clair, Subtronics, but the list goes on forever.
