Mikey Lion Shares Emotional Post After Desert Hearts Festival’s LA Migration
Desert Heart’s Festival has found a new home, Los Angeles, and Mikey Lion has unveiled some thought-provoking emotions on social media.
Mikey Lion reflects on the outcome of the Desert Hearts Festival‘s location change to the City of Angels. The San Diego- based DJ has carved his name in the sands. Making way for the highly celebrated gathering. Moreover, immersed in the festival’s culture, truly becoming the heart of the gathering. Not to mention, the house performer’s elevation of techno to an undeniable level of auditory delight.
Subsequentially, Mikey Lion took to Instagram to talk about the overview last week. The post began with, “Desert Hearts Family!” Addressing the natural bond formed between him and the attendees. after a few years of performing at the festival. He continued, “I just want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the amazing experience that we shared at this year’s festival.” This year alone the festival attained nearly 6,000+ ticket holders to the event space.
With a full roster, this year consisting of 35 plus amazing artists. Mikey goes on to describe the “atmosphere of love, positivity, and acceptance.” on arrival at the festival grounds. Reflecting on the vibe similarities of past festival experiences with the new location. This year marked the 11th year for the California-based festival.
Surely, what an amazing feat to see how greatly the music destination has grown. Propagating from Lake Perris, now 71 miles away calling L.A. home. The post read, “The energy and vibes at Desert Hearts LA were immaculate, and I can honestly say that I’ve never been prouder of our community for rallying around the pivot from Lake Perris to the LA Coliseum.”
On deck at the Coliseum this year were Lee Foss, Dink, DJ Minx, and Gene Ferris to name a few. The LA Coliseum has become a historic monument not only for the city but as an event space for spectacular acts and performers. Dating back to January 1923 for the ninth Rose Bowl, USC VS. PENN. However, in early May, Mikey posted about how grateful he was they were able to pivot to L.A. and not cancel the event.
Mikey went on to convey, “It doesn’t matter the location because wherever the Desert Hearts Community gathers, that is home.” Gratitude and love can be felt in his expression of thought. Granted, the bond and connection made at festivals are one of a kind. Dancing to the beats of your favorite artist, meant new like-minded people and enjoying the overall experience. He concluded the post, “Finally, thank you Desert Hearts Family, for reminding me of the power of music, art, and human connection.”
