A Complete Survival Guide to GRIDLIFE Midwest

GRIDLIFE Midwest returns for its 10th anniversary edition and Exron Music has curated some survival tips to get you ready to attend.

GRIDLIFE Midwest is back and bigger than ever before. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the festival, which will take place from Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4, at Gingerman Raceway. The festival combines the thrill of motorsports events and car shows with top-notch festival production and two nights of slamming DJ sets.

This year, Billboard-charting dubstep producer and Cyclops Recordings label boss Subtronics will be headlining the striking event. Multi-instrumentalist bass producer Boogie T, rock-fueled bass maestro Sullivan King, and hard-bass technician Wooli will also be taking over the decks all weekend long. Attendees can also expect sets by bass-house producer Qlank, heavy dubstep purveyor Dogma, and genre-blending artist Able Grey.

But GRIDLIFE Midwest isn’t just about the music. It’s a celebration of all things automotive, bringing together grassroots and professional drivers from around the country for three days of high-octane enthusiasm. Spectators can witness top-tier drifting featuring amateur and pro drivers, hair-raising sprint races with the GRIDLIFE Touring Cup, and heavily-modified time attack race cars. With this being such a unique experience, Exron Music curated five tips to help you survive this one-of-a-kind festival experience.

Make a custom festival map

Festival grounds can seem huge and overwhelming, but making a custom festival map can help you navigate the grounds and prioritize your must-see acts. Use a festival map from their official website or app and mark your favorite stages, food vendors, and restrooms. You can also add notes about sets you want to catch or areas you want to explore so you don’t miss out on anything worthwhile.

Wear comfortable shoes

Comfortable shoes are a must-have for a music festival of this caliber. You’ll be standing, dancing, and walking for hours on end, so choose shoes that provide support and won’t hurt your feet. Bonus points if they’re also stylish and fit the festival’s overall vibe and aesthetic.

Attend smaller acts and activities

While it’s tempting to stick to the main stages and headliners, attending smaller acts and activities can lead to discovering new favorites and unique experiences. Only at GRIDLIFE can you apply to exhibit your vehicle in the GRIDLIFE Showcase, test your driving skills in the Virtual Racing Arcade, or shop at the plethora of vendors selling all sorts of automotive-related merchandise.

Pack for all types of weather

Music festivals can be unpredictable when it comes to weather. Be sure to pack warm clothes and blankets for the night, rain gear like ponchos and mini umbrellas for a possible downpour, and plenty of sunscreen and playful hats for the hot blazing sun.

Bring portable chargers

Between taking photos and videos of your favorite bands, posting on social media, and staying connected with friends, your phone battery is bound to quickly drain. Be sure to bring a portable charger or two to ensure your devices stay charged throughout the festival.

But even if you’re not a die-hard car enthusiast, there’s still plenty to enjoy at GRIDLIFE Midwest. The festival offers a unique and exciting atmosphere that combines music, motorsports, and culture in a way that is unmatched by any other event. So mark your calendars for June 2-4, 2023, and get ready for an unforgettable weekend at GRIDLIFE Midwest.

With a stacked lineup of musical talent, heart-pumping motorsports events, and a vibrant and enthusiastic community of car enthusiasts, this festival is not to be missed. I have been writing for Exron Music for around eight months now and cannot wait to see what is to come throughout the years. At festivals and clubs, you will find me at any house and techno stage supporting my favorites Eli Brown or Dom Dolla, or belting every word to Porter Robinson tracks wherever he performs.
