Exron Exclusive Interview: Dateless at Miami Music Week 2023

Dateless turned up the heat at the Espacio Stage for Paradise Miami held at the magnificent Factory Town during Miami Music Week with beats you couldn’t help but get grooving to. Exron Music had the opportunity to chat with the funky house artist who is currently skyrocketing in popularity thanks to his single “Geekin'” to get some intel on his success.

The first question: “BBC Radio shouted out your new track Geekin’ and you mentioned it was number three on the top 100 funky house tracks list. How do you feel about the response so far?”

He explained: “I’ve been losing my mind ever since.” Then went into detail about how amazing it was to see his track continuously keep climbing to the top. He noted because it’s a “TikTok” world right now so ya never know if you can beat the songs that are thriving and trending on the platform.

The second question: “Jamie Jones recently brought you onto his label again and said he believed in you – after a period of stagnant-ness. How did that come about?”

The question was referring to an Instagram post from Dateless where he explained that recently he felt like he was having a pause in his career but once Jones fell in love with “Geekin’” everything changed.

Dateless cleared it up that Jones wasn’t aware of his stagnant-ness but that’s how he was feeling personally at the time. He said he and Jones have worked together three other times before and have created a bond since. Two tracks he has with Hot Creations are “Shoes On Please” and “Bee.”

Dateless revealed Jones is extremely picky when it comes to the tracks he considers signing and he will even deny dozens sent from big artists because he has a specific “vision.”

He opened up about how Jamie is a “muse” to him.

“I absolutely adore Jamie. I think he is an anomaly if that is the correct word. I mean he is just his own thing. I’ve always looked at him as a muse. Everything he does is cool. The way he DJs, I wanna DJ like Jamie.”

The third question included intel on what exactly his DJ name Dateless stands for as some get it confused for “a hopeless romantic” but it actually refers to “creating timeless tracks” and hoping to be legendary. Dateless also revealed a few interesting facts about what inspires his music.
