Skrillex to Perform Five Hour Set at Red Rocks in April
Skrillex is headed to the Rockies for an iconic 5-hour set at an iconic venue, The Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Red Rocks announced the performance set for April 28 at 7 p.m. on Instagram in late March. The set comes amid Skrillex making a major comeback to music with massive single “RATATA,” “Rumble” with Fred again.., and two new albums — “QUEST FOR FIRE” and “Don’t Get Too Close.” Skrillex proved in 2023 so far, he’s still got it and more. Now, he will take on one of the world’s best outdoor concert stages solo.
“RATATA” has gained serious attention among EDM lovers and has inspired many other artists to play it during their sets. Skrillex has also been making big moves with Fred again.. and Four Tet in a new trio named Pangbourne House Mafia. The trio has performed legendary sets at Times Square in New York City which sold out and in London which lasted four hours and also sold out instantly.
Some of Skrillex’s new tracks from his latest album “Don’t Get Too Close,” includes “Ceremony” and “Real Spring” with Swedish artist Bladee ft ( Yung Lean), “Way Back,” “Don’t Leave Me Like This,” and “Selecta.” Tracks to keep an eye out from “QUEST FOR FIRE” includes “Leave Me Like This,” “Tears,” and “Butterflies,” “Inhale Exhale.” This album also includes “RATATA,” and “Rumble.”
Skrillex recently opened up on Twitter about the reason why he “fell off” from the EDM scene explaining that he had some of the toughest years of his life during that time. This was mostly due to his mother passing away which led to him struggling to find drive and purpose. He said: “I never ever coped with it … I drank the pain away and kept going”. Skrillex followed up with another tweet explaining, “People ask why “I’ve been gone” or “fell off”, rightfully so. Like I said, 22’ was sort of my tipping point, I had to put everything on ice, especially my projects/career.”
Skrillex will also be heading to several other events in 2023 such as Hangout Music Festival in Hangout Gulf Shores, AL, on May 19-21; along with multiple scheduled international performances in Spain, the United Kingdom, Romania, France, Germany, Serbia, and Canada.
