Martin Garrix’s India Tour Celebrates Esteemed Spot as Highest Selling Tour Ever in India

Martin Garrix broke records this year when his 8-city tour in India became the highest-selling tour in the history of the country.

After playing nine total shows from March 3 to March 12, Martin Garrix finished his tour as the highest-selling live tour in the history of India. The house DJ began to tour in India when he played a charity show to promote children’s education in 2016. This tour was his first back since 2018.

The Dutch producer played in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and five other cities, with a total attendance of around 150,000 people. The number of people drawn to Garrix’s shows beat out the thousands of people who went to shows of singers Prateek Kuhad and Arijit Singh, as well as comedian Vir Das.

At the age of seventeen, Martin Garrix was the youngest DJ at Ultra Music Festival in 2014 and topped the charts with his hit, “Animals.” Ten years later, his tracks are still garnering billions of streams as he continues to collaborate with singers like Dua Lipa, Troye Sivan, and other big names in pop. Just last year, Garrix was voted the number one DJ in the world by DJ Mag for the fourth time.

His career began quickly and has only grown over the last decade. In response to the news, Garrix said, “India is one of my favorite countries to perform at, and this tour has been one of the best experiences ever. We have done nine amazing shows in eight different cities and I already can’t wait to come back.’’

The iconic tour was run by Sunburn, Asia’s largest dance music festival. Their CEO, Karan Singh, expressed gratitude and excitement to both the DJ and the attendees, promising that their 2023 season is going to be one of their biggest years yet.

The producer is always playing shows around the world, whether it is a festival or at one of his two Las Vegas residencies. Tickets for any of his 2023 shows are available for purchase on his website. To celebrate Martin Garrix’s massive achievement, listen to his most recent single with JVKE, “Hero,” here:
