Blond:ish Partners with Bose for “Turn the Dial” to Promote Music Produced By Women

“Through my music, I can explore endless ways to bring people back to that feeling back to the energy.” – Blond:ish

Turn the Dial is a movement driven toward closing the gender parity gap within the music industry. Turn the Dial is a content series by Bose that highlights notable women within the industry. Artists that are part of the campaign include H.E.R., PinkPantheress, WondaGurl, and Blond:ish.

Furthermore, the goal of this campaign is important for young women and non-binary people to see awareness in every role throughout the entertainment industry. Recent data shows that only 2.8% of songs over the last decade were produced by women. New findings from Bose, have revealed that the number was even lower last year, with only 2.3% of the top 100 hits in 2022 produced by women.

Blond:ish (Vivie-ann Bakos) is one of the key women who are taking part in this campaign. In an Instagram post, she wrote “I jumped at the opportunity. Not only because balance is the key to life (I’m a libra) but its SOOOOoooo important for an artist with some sort of voice to #TurnTheDial & give back by being a mentor, share knowledge, and inspire up-and-coming producers, if they need it!”

Bakos is a Canadian producer and DJ and has been in the industry since 2007. Throughout her career, she’s been paving the way for women and pushing boundaries within the electronic music scene. Her unique talent helps build relationships and bridge gaps across different genres from all walks of life. She recently produced and released a collaborative track “Sorry” with the one and only Madonna.

In a recent interview, Blond:ish said “Music is energy and a universal connector, and that is why being a part of ‘Turn The Dial’ was such a natural fit for me,” “In producing my own music, I too, can explore being a connector who can make sharing this energy more tangible. Through my music, I can explore endless ways to bring people back to that feeling [and] back to the energy.”

Finally, follow Bose to stay up-to-date for new updates on Turn the Dial.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
