Peekaboo Reminisces on Promoting NGHTMRE Shows in College to Celebrate Official Remix

Jen Jacquez — 21 hours ago

After the drop of NGHTMARE’s recent remix, Peekaboo ponders on the past when he was a promoter for his shows while attending school.

Peekaboo reflects on a time when he would support NGHTMRE‘s shows during university, following the collaboration on their newest remix. The Detroit-born producer’s musical passion runs in his family. Subsequentially, his father is a professional trumpet player, Peekaboo picked up the instrument along with the guitar. He gained inspiration in high school from Skrillex and then became an audio engineer for horror films after college.

Since then his illustrious career has allotted him fantastic opportunities as he integrated components of horror into his music. Most recently, Peekaboo had a full circle moment as he shared his thoughts about a recent release. “life is crazy, big shout out to my boy NGHTMRE for smashing his when I’m gone remix,” captioned his IG post.

The IG post was an image of a tweet he tweeted earlier that same day. “I remember when I was in college I was selling tickets for @NGHTMREshows helping promote it,” began the tweet. Now Peekaboo has gained a loyal fan base, performing at festivals across the globe. The tweet continued, “Dropping all his tracks at house parties.” He transformed his college passion into a heartfelt music career.

“Now he has an official remix of my own song out NOW,” concluded his tweet. Through his hard work, and relentless perseverance he is now among the main characters. The track was released on Friday, March 10th.  “When I’m Gone (NGHTMRE Remix) is the third track on Peekaboos EP with the same name. The three-minute, 42-second song is a thrilling dance banger featuring XAELO.

On September 9th, 20220 NGHTMRE unveiled his debut album DRMVRSE. Shortly after he commenced his tour under the matching name. Recently he added a few more dates and then will be at a handful of festivals in the months to follow. In fact, he’s one of the headliners for The Ultra Music Festival on March 24th-27th in Miami, Florida. Peekaboo also has a slew of dates set for his current tour.

Moreover, in late February Peekaboo played his 360 show at the Hollywood Palladium. This past Saturday on March 11th he was in his home town Detroit, Michigan at Masonic. Coincidently on the same evening, he tweeted his father performed at the Detriot Symphony. In brief, music is most definitely a family affair. “When I’m Gone -NGHTMRE Remix,” is out now on all streaming platforms, check it out!
