John Summit Flexes DJ Success to “Old Hag” on an Airplane

The relatable king John Summit clapped back at an airplane passenger after she said DJing wasn’t a “real job.”

If you know anything about the bender king, then his master trolls on Twitter should come as no surprise.  John Summit recently shared a baffling exchange he had with another airplane passenger about his career choices. Certainly, the slew of exchanges between him and fans that ensued proved to be well worth the awkward exchange.

After mentioning he was DJ, a woman responded that it’s always good to try things “before getting a real job.”  Summit clearly did NOT take the sentiment kindly, clapping back at the “old hag” in a series of subtweets.  In fact, Summit met her with quite the comeback when he in turn learned that she was in sales.

The music icon responded that he “made more the past 6 months” than she had in her lifetime and implored her to reserve judgment moving forward.  While the comments may have sounded harsh, Twitter is notoriously a space of embellished language and shock value.  Furthermore, John Summit has notoriously built a following for always keeping it 100 with people.

Twitter users naturally rolled out the jokes in response to Summit’s jabs.  One user suggested that he “try accounting if it doesn’t work out,” a cheeky ode to Summit’s former day job.  

Ultimately, however, Summit’s row-mate likely didn’t mean any hate from her comment. Similarly, John Summit has gone to great lengths to amass a loving and supportive fan base, so he undoubtedly meant well with the interaction.  While Twitter may seem all fun and games, fans and artists alike should do their part to preserve the industry’s culture of respect and inclusivity.
