Skrillex Teases Gesaffelstein’s New Album with Candid Photo

Emilee Gabbard — 4 days ago

Skrillex gives fans something to discuss with his latest Instagram post rumoring about a new album from Gesaffelstein.

Skrillex is making waves in the electronic dance music world again. But, this time it has nothing to do with his own music. This time around, he has released details about a new album coming soon from the one and only Gesaffelstein. But, is an Instagram caption really something we can get excited about?

Gesaffelstein, whose real name is Mike Lévy, is a French music producer who has been making waves in the electronic music society since 2008. Most known for his dark, industrial sound and his enigmatic persona, Gesaffelstein is a staple in the scene. With his biggest hits like ‘I Was Never There’ and ‘Lost in the Fire’ featuring The Weeknd, Gesaffelstein is a name many know inside and outside the electronic scene.

One of the most impressive aspects of Gesaffelstein’s music is his unique sound. He has a distinct, industrial style characterized by heavy, distorted basslines, haunting melodies, and a dark, brooding atmosphere. His music is often described as “techno-terror,” with its ominous soundscapes and industrial beats. Gesaffelstein’s use of analog synthesizers and drum machines gives his music a raw, gritty sound that is unlike anything else in the electronic music world. Tied in seamlessly with his dark, mysterious image and lack of revealing much about himself, Gesaffelstein leaves fans wondering. This air of mystery contributes hugely to the allure of Gesaffelstein, making him much of an icon in the electronic music society.

His unique sound and enigmatic persona are one to uplift a generation of electronic music producers.  With many producers attempting to replicate his style. His unique sound has made him the huge success he is today. Collaborations with a wide range of artists, including The Weeknd, Daft Punk, and Pharrell Williams, ultimately brought light to his sound to a broader audience. His music has also been featured in films and TV shows, such as the Netflix series “Stranger Things,” making his name more solidified as an artistic idol.

Skrillex’s Instagram post on Gesaffelstein’s album

So, of course, when Skrillex mentions new music coming from the artist, everyone reacts! One fan even commented on Skrillex‘s post stating “There is hope for humanity after all.” This goes to show Gesaffelstein truly is a huge icon in the scene. But, without any album releases since 2019 fans are hungry for something more. All we know is when the album finally drops, it will be an instant number-one hit. Until the release, you can find Gesaffelstein’s top tracks below!
