Fred Again.. sells out his secret Melbourne show in only 30 seconds.
As many people within the electronic music space know, Fred Again.. has been the talk of the town. On Feb 3, he announce he was doing a pop-up show on his Instagram story. That little story managed to sell the show out in just 30 seconds after he announced it. Additionally, before the tickets sold out, he sent a text message to fans on the waitlist for his separate, sold-out show at The Forum. He played that show on Wednesday, February 1, and wanted to give them first access.
“I really wanted to try [and] do something for people who couldn’t come to the show on Wednesday,” Fred Again.. wrote on Instagram. “So anyone who was on the waitlist for that will have received a text message for tickets for a rave tonight.” The link for access was live at 11 am, with tickets selling out less than a minute after that. The venue of the pop-up show was never announced ahead of time. Fans who purchased tickets had to was to receive a notification revealing the venue location at 7 pm.
Last month, Fred Again.. was joined at a previous pop-up show at London’s Troxy venue by Skrillex and Four Tet. That event is one of three surprise London gigs curated by the trio. They recently performed last-minute shows at both Brixton Electric and the Electric Ballroom.
Additionally, at the Electric Ballroom pop-up show, Fred Again.. and Skrillex played their recent single “Rumble” which also features British rapper Flowdan. ‘Rumble’ is going to appear on Skrillex’s forthcoming double album, and Trippie Redd and PinkPantheress’s single ‘Way Back’ is going to make the final cut as well.
