Bassnectar Hosts First Installment of Relive Series Amid Ongoing Trial
Despite a pending civil suit, fan outrage, and more questions than answers, Bassnectar continues to push the “Relive” initiative.
Bassnectar’s “Relive” series is exclusive for participants of his new member-only website, “The Other Side.” The idea is that once a month, his team will stream old performances for fans to relive at home. Contents of “The Other Side” are hidden behind a paywall at unlocktheotherside.com.
A couple of weeks ago, Bassnectar made the first post to his Instagram account in years, announcing “Bassnectar Relive.” The caption reads, “All Free (style) members are most welcome to join us Sunday February 5th at 6pm PST for the world premiere of RELIVE: Episode One – Spring Gathering 2018 Night One, Part One.”
When February 5th rolled around, Bassnectar posted to Instagram stories to remind fans of the forthcoming stream. The post read, “Hello Friends & Family! Today is the day, you have arrived in ‘the lobby’ and we are revving the engines and preparing to go live with Episode One of RELIVE:::::: get comfortable, and we will start sharing some helpful notes about what to expect and how to optimize your experience [smiley emoji]”
The story continued, “Ok, so the plan is to launch this live at exactly 6pm PST…at that time we will post a link here and with one click of a button you will be whisked away on a journey. So stay tuned.”
The Bassnectar team also recently sent out an email to fans with more details about “The Other Side,” causing both excitement and outrage. Despite what appears to be his return to the public eye, the artist has yet to publicly address the allegations made against him or the pending trial. The first and last time Bassnectar responded publicly to the claims was in early 2020.
During his absence, the artist has allegedly been working on multiple albums, side projects, and “The Other Side.” A leak from a private discord channel rumored an album to drop this Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2023.
