deadmau5 and Rezz Announce First-Ever b2b as Rezzmau5 at VELD 2023

VELD Music Festival announces its 10th edition lineup featuring a massive Rezzmau5 debut.

Back in November 2022, Rezz took to Twitter to announce that scheduled to go b2b with none other than deamau5. At that time, the festival had not been revealed which left fans on the edge of their seats. Look no further, because Rezz and deadmau5 will perform their first-ever performance together at VELD Music Festival in Toronto, Canada. 

VELD is the perfect place to host this legendary b2b since both DJs are from Canada. VELD festival is also one of the largest electronic music festivals in the country. For this edition of the festival, they will headline as Rezzmau5. 

On January 26th, Rezz made the official announcement to her 307k followers. “I went to this festival when I was 16 and saw deadmau5 close it out, which inspired me to later make music myself.” She continued, “So this is entirely insane and a massive deal to me!!! Where else shall we bring this in the future?”

Additionally, deadmau5 is a close friend and mentor to Rezz, who has put out several records on his label, mau5trap. In 2021, they officially collaborated for the first time for “Hypnocurrency,” a mid-tempo record that brought the best of both of their unique sounds.

Despite their long and productive friendship, the pair have never performed together live, making the VELD performance a special night for their fans. VELD Music Festival will be held at Downsview Park from August 4-6, 2023. There will be three stages. The main stage will focus on electronic music and Sirkus stage with house music. In addition to the dance-forward lineup, there will be a hillside stage dedicated to UK hip-hop and grim exclusively on Friday and the remainder of the weekend with dubstep and bass.
