Barclay Crenshaw and Eprom Drop Hot Remixes for Yung Skrrt’s “McDonalds”

Each putting their own spin to Yung Skrrt’s original track, Barclay Crenshaw and Eprom deliver a modernized twist to “McDonalds”.

Championing a cross-genre between funk and bass, Barclay Crenshaw and Eprom have unveiled their latest remix of Yung Skrrt’s “McDonalds” after discovering the fast-food themed hip hop hit on Bandcamp. The duo put their own unique spin, heavily laden with an acidic bass lines and glitchy cut to the original version.

As Dirtybird’s label boss Claude Vonstroke’s alter ego, Barclay Crenshaw emerged as a side project previously but he has continued to supercharge dance floors across the globe. His highly anticipated Wakaan Festival set was recently uploaded to his Soundcloud, building on the fans’ excitement in his new project. His latest remix of “McDonalds” taps on a yearning percussion that creates an atmosphere all on its own. He further layers the track with hypnotic rhythms that give the track a club-ready dimension alongside bouncy bass lines.

Speaking on this remix project, Barclay credits Eprom on his phenomenal talent and their synergy when it comes to making music.  “I started playing this insane track by Yung Skrrt and then I heard that my friend Eprom did a remix (great minds think alike.) I found Skrrt and we decided to re-release the original plus the two new remixes on Dirtybird’s white label series.”

In the second remix by Eprom, the Grammy-nominated producer offers a swelling rendition of “McDonalds” by creating a jagged, wonky bass line filled with rattling seizure synth progressions. The DJ and turntablist is best known for his master’s engineering and ability to create sounds that represent the vibrant electronic music scene.

Together, the duo’s latest release on Dirtybird represents a refreshing work that highlights the brilliance of their collaboration. The pulsating production elements in this remix record captures the ability of both producers to turn an original song into stand out tracks that perfectly encapsulates each of their own signature sounds.
