Lucii Ventures Into New Genres with Single “Narcissist” Following Rough Breakup
Is this rough breakup single about Lucci and Rezz? Who’s to say!
Fan favorite Lucii recently dropped a new single about a “high profile” ex titled “Narcissist.” Subtle! The song supposedly outlined her rough breakup with an ex-girlfriend, one that we all may know and love… The song’s lyrics outlined a tempestuous and troubled relationship, touting fights and therapy sessions, spitting vitriol. “You’re a narcissist says my therapist. The devil in your eyes haunts me in the night…”
For those not paying attention, Lucii and the world-famous DJ Rezz used to date. They were both very public with their relationship, first Tweeting about their crushes on one another in 2020 before officially going public with the relationship a few months later. The relationship was short-lived, however, for Lucii and Rezz broke up in February of 2022. The couple stealthily removed all social media traces of one another, silently confirming the split.
For a while, Lucci sub-Tweeted her ex, posting little messages like, “I just [want to] call [you] but I know I can’t.” Eventually, the Tweets took on another tone, a happier and more peaceful idealism.
“Dating your best friend is really cool,” tweeted Lucii on June 7th, 2022. Shortly thereafter, Lucii came forward with her next relationship, a sweet romance with Emily Sporn. As far as we can see from Instagram, the two have been happily dating ever since.
Although Lucii’s story and perspective have merit, there are always two sides. Rezz has remained relatively silent regarding the breakup tea, focusing heavily on her music, festivals, touring, and kicking ass. What is most important, in the end, is that both Lucii and Rezz end up with partners that truly appreciate them for who they are – that they never settle, that they find someone with whom they can build a life, and that they practice light and love despite the hurdles of misunderstanding, incompatibility, and loss.
