Skrillex Shares Cryptic Teaser Video Sparking Album Rumors

Skrillex releases his latest album teaser after nearly a decade since his last studio album.

On January 1, Sonny Moore aka Skrillex officially announced his sophomore album will be available sometime in 2023. His last full-length album, ‘Recess‘, came out nearly an entire decade ago back in 2014. Following its release, it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in April of that year. Year after year since ‘Recess’, Skrillex has teased many times that he has been working on not one but two studio albums. All of that speculation ends now due to his most recent Instagram posts.

After wiping his entire Instagram feed, Skrillex shared two video reels with short clips of unreleased music. The first post is captioned “QFF/DGTC 23”, which is said to be the initials of his upcoming albums. The official project titles are unknown at this time. However, an October 2022 tweet of a childhood photo with the caption “don’t get too close” is a good fit.

In response to the first post, Circa Survive/L.S. Dunes frontman Anthony Green wrote on Twitter: “Honored to be a part of this record. It’s a masterpiece. Thanks for letting me work on it with you.”

Additionally, Skrillex’s second post is more straightforward, announcing a new track called “Rumble”, which is now a. The highly anticipated track featured Fred again… and Flowdan has been teased especially in Fred again’s iconic Boiler Room set. In the past two years, he’s released a number of collaborations, including tracks with Justin Bieber and Don Toliver; J Balvin; Noisia, josh pan and Dylan Brady; Four Tet and Starrah; J Cortez; and Swae Lee and Siiickbrain.

As of now, this is the only information Skrillex has released about his upcoming projects. The entire EDM community can’t wait to see what’s to come before the album’s release with the hopes of several shows afterward to accompany it.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
