Electronic Music Artists to Watch in 2023

Each year Exron spotlights ten emerging artists that are challenging the grain and carving their own unique path in the electronic music realm. 

From house and techno, all the way to dubstep, each niche of the dance music community offers a variety of budding talent to keep an eye on for the upcoming new year! Following the worldwide pandemic, creativity proved to be flowing in 2022 and we can only imagine the plethora of great new music that will come our way in 2023! Check out our top ten electronic artists to watch, in no particular order, below.

Lilly Palmer

Originally from Zurich, Switzerland, Lilly Palmer has honed her driving melodic techno scene and captivated the attention of fans across the world. 2022 saw the release of the hard-hitting ‘We Control’ EP on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and subsequent performances at Drumcode events across the globe.

Palmer’s infectious energy was delivered at various festivals in 2022 including ULTRA Buenos Aires, Surreal Park, Contact Festival, and more. She also made her North American debut at iconic clubs like Academy LA, Space Miami, Prysm Night Club, and more.

Kevin de Vires

Kevin de Vires immediately captured the spotlight of the underground with his heavily anticipated ID “Dance With Me” which was played out across dancefloors for the majority of 2022. The track was finally released on Afterlife in September after receiving staunch support from label bosses Tale of Us and a stunning remix from Kölsch. 

The Berlin producer also released tracks on Drumcode Records and made unforgettable performances at Tomorrowland, various Afterlife events, Ibiza, and more. It’s safe to say that “Dance With Me” was only the beginning of the talented producer’s arsenal of dancefloor weapons.  

Mau P

Hailing from Amsterdam, Mau P was a new name that blessed the dance music community after his breakthrough release “Drugs from Amsterdam” on Lee Foss’ label Repopulate Mars. The budding producer’s first single release quickly garnered nearly 50 million streams on Spotify alone and left fans eagerly awaiting more. 

A few more IDs have been teased on social media including John Summit rinsing a new single “That Bounce” that fans have linked to Mau P, which has already sparked a lot of buzz for the emerging artist. 

Speaker Honey

After making her label debut in 2019 on mau5trap, Speaker Honey’s versatile sound has made her a label favorite over the past few years. In 2022, she released her ‘Animate Life’ EP which featured her spunky sound. She also made stellar releases on Deserts Hearts Black and Set About Music. 

In addition to her discography, Speaker Honey made performances on Groove Cruise Cabo, EDC Orlando, various LA appearances, and more. She closed out the year with a bang supporting Kaskade and deadmau5’s Kx5 official after-party in Los Angeles as well as supporting deadmau5’s alias Testpilot in Las Vegas for New Year’s Eve. 

Chloé Calliet

Fast-rising house music artist ChloĂ© Caillet has made quite the name for herself as one of CircoLoco’s DC10 residents. Serving as the sixth label release for CircoLoco, ChloĂ© revealed the sultry tech house heater “NYWTF ft. Mikhail Beltran”, as a tribute to her native city of New York. The track went on to be voted #9 on Pete Tong’s Essential New Tunes of 2022 and received massive support from industry titans.

She has captivated the attention of fans and industry professionals alike with performances at Space in Miami, Teksupport in New York, fabric in London, and more. She recently returned to New York to ring in the new year alongside Seth Troxler at Nebula and Dixon and AmĂŞ at Teksupport’s event.

ISOxo

San Diego-based producer ISOxo has made a name for himself over the past few years with support from coveted event brand Brownies & Lemonade as well as part of RL Grime’s label Salley Vable. 2022 saw the talented up-and-comer release on Sable Valley, NIGHTMODE, as well as a stirring collaboration with G Jones on his imprint. 

To make the year even more memorable, “his idol” Skrillex joined him on stage during his New Year’s Eve performance for Brownies & Lemonade in San Diego. Following his most successful year to date, ISOxo wiped his Instagram to make the official announcement of his debut album ‘KIDSGONEMAD!’, slated for release in 2023.

GS5

Denver-based house act GS5 has been direct support for the likes of FREAK ON, Morelia, Shuski, Truth X Lies, and Joshwa. His budding discography features releases on Nite Records, Tom & Collin’s label Terms & Conditions, Diskuli’s label Groovy Bone Records, Gold Deeper, and more. One of his most notable releases of 2022 was “Selecta” in collaboration with LEFTCOAST and Clark Key.

As he continues to showcase his stirring tech house sound, the talented producer receives support from industry titans like Kyle Walker, AC Slater, Tita Lau, and more. In 2022, he played shows in both Colorado and New York at Club Vinyl, Bar Standard, Larimer Lounge, and The Blackbox. His upcoming tour dates include support for Moksi, Kyle Walker, and Miguel Bastida. 

Rae Cola

Los Angeles-based twin duo Rae Cola made quite the debut on the dance music scene in 2022 with their first release, the two-track “Bezerk” EP. Originally from Chicago, the sisters aim to pay homage to the birthplace of house music with their own distinct sound.

The duo performed at Dirtybird and Day Trip in LA in 2022, showcasing energetic performances that have now landed them on the lineups for Ultra Music Festival and Electric Forest in 2023.

Chris Avantgarde

Producer and composer Chris Avantgarde lands on our artists-to-watch list following his immaculate collaborations in 2022. “Consciousness” with Anyma immediately became one of the standout tracks of the year, going viral across every inch of the globe and receiving the remix treatment from dance music icon Eric Prydz.

Avantgarde followed “Consciousness” with the flawless two-track EP ‘Mind Control’ alongside Kevin de Vries. After positioning himself on two of the hottest labels in the industry, Afterlife and Drumcode, it’s safe to say 2023 will serve as another breakout year for the talented artist.

Frameworks

Last but certainly not least comes UK-based producer Frameworks. Over the past decade, the producer has earned a dedicated fanbase across performances at festivals such as Electric Forest, Coachella, Camp Bisco, Shambhala and more.

His recent string of releases include emotive tracks such as “BLUE LIGHT” with Cleopold, “NO TIME”, and “NO SKIN” with Mild Minds. As the producer enters a new era, his graceful signature sound continues to earn him millions of streams across platforms.
